One square mile
Each hub serves its city centre and nothing else. Density is the economics: more buildings per mile, no windscreen time, no depot.
Citeco Group is the company behind Citeco — a new model for city-centre building engineering, live now in Leeds.
Every part of the model — one square mile, small teams on foot, sub-hour response, ultra-low-carbon delivery — was designed deliberately, so that it doesn't just work in one city. Leeds is where we prove it.
Citeco is live in Leeds city centre — engineers on foot, on site in under an hour.
If you own or manage a building in the square mile, that's where to start. This page is about the company behind it.
Every UK city centre has the same problem. Nobody built for it.
Building maintenance is delivered to city centres from outside them — engineers dispatched via a regional model, through traffic, to buildings they might visit twice a year. The accepted response standard is four hours. In a dense city centre, that isn't a service level. It's a symptom of the wrong structure.
Citeco was designed around the geography of a city centre instead. Multiskilled teams on foot inside one square mile, supported by electric vehicles, coordinated live. The result is sub-hour response and an ultra-low-carbon delivery model — not as targets, as consequences of the design. And a design has one useful property a depot doesn't: it can be built again.
Serve every city centre from inside it.
Buildings served on foot, not through traffic — decarbonising city maintenance by design, not by offset.
A Citeco hub is one city centre, served completely, from inside it. Four principles define every hub — the first is open in Leeds.
Each hub serves its city centre and nothing else. Density is the economics: more buildings per mile, no windscreen time, no depot.
Small, multiskilled teams patrol the centre on foot with EV support — already close when the call comes. Sub-hour response by design.
Reactive response, planned maintenance and statutory compliance — contracted service lines that renew, not one-off projects.
On foot and electric, the model is ultra-low-carbon before anyone tries. In Leeds, an estimated 200 tonnes of CO2e a year is on the table.
Each hub runs as its own company under Citeco Group — locally run, centrally designed. Leeds is the first. The mark carries a grid of city blocks for a reason.
I've spent forty years in building engineering — M&E, fire, security and life safety — from a family contracting firm to some of the biggest names in the industry. For most of that time I watched city-centre buildings receive regional service, and kept thinking: that's not good enough.
Citeco is the fix, designed from the ground up. We're at the start — one city, a model now live, and a long list of city centres with the same problem. We'll earn the next one by proving the first.
